Compatibility of new Core 2 Duo?
Hello !
I have a T9500 processor with 800 MHz FSB makes me proud to serve! But I would like to pass on a T9600 "X9100 even though expensive, but they are both in 1066 for MHz FSB compatibility So is it? whether there will be no clamping? hmm
I have a Dell Precision M6300 which has 4 Months, So a recent configuration.
Thank you
Re: Compatibility of new Core 2 Duo?
I will answer your question,
as you said, the Centrino 2 have been an increase in the FSB but what you probably know and have not decreased their multiplier.
Let simple.
To determine the frequency of a processor, we multiply its multiplier with the frequency of its FSB.
Knowing that your chip does at a frequency of 200MHz FSB and the multiplier to the T9600 is 10.5, it will give on your platform:
10.5 x 200 = 2100 MHz or 2.1 GHz instead of 2.8 GHz.
Re: Compatibility of new Core 2 Duo?
Let simple! but explain ...
No I admit I did not know it but I want to learned!
One last question the TDP will not increase too much if we X9000 boosts in 3Ghz! because the X9100 has 3.1 GHz and give a 44W TDP and the X9000 is a 2.8 Ghz in the same levels?
thank you
