Hi there
I have just bought Far Cry 2 and although the game installs properly, when i click on the Far Cry icon on my desktop to play the game it goes to a SecuROM window to verify the 'date release' of the game online. However thats how far i get because its gives me an error and starts telling me to download a patch and so on. I have tried this on two other computers and they all come up with the same issue. Please any advice will help.

Is it an original cd cause I think if the activation is failing then you have been robbed. Take it to the place from where you bought it unless it is original ofcourse and yell, shout at the owner or even take him to the police for piracy.
What are your specification of your pc ? Have you update all the latest driver ? what kind of error you are seeing ? The dvd is pirated or original ?
I too was having difficulties and I am an old hand at this sort of thing as most of you are as well . My solution was simple instead of using the numerical keys at the top of the keyboard (which I tried using at least 6x unsuccessfully) use the keypad . Worked the first time i tried it that way ...... :ohyeah:
like he said use the numeric pad on the right side of your keyboard... worked for me anyways, thanks dude

The SecuROM window pops up...gives an error..and then exits the game, doesnt it? so where and what typing is required..?
please clarify as I too am facing the same issue..
