Which RAM will perform Faster? 2x1024 or 1x2048

Hi,
I am planning to buy the Computer with the memory capacity 2 GB.I am confused about If I buy RAM stick, one with the capacity 1x2048 MB or another one with 2x1024 MB(1 with 1024) Both has same capacity which is 2 GB,which will run faster.Please share your ideas.

2x1024 will perform more better. and another benefit you have is that suppose if your one ram get failed then at least you would have a backup of another ram to run your Pc.

Disable the on board and install a 2 GB module if you're going for high-end RAM chips. If you're using the same RAM chips as the one used in the 1 GB module that came with your computer, then I would just add a 1 GB module in the 2nd slot and off you go.

I will go for 1x1024 the simple reason is that it is an electronic device and it may get punctured, If i use 1x1024 it something happens to it, my PC will still run on the single 1 GB memory stick, from the performance point of view the it slightly degrade from the 2 GB memory stick.
