Problem with motherboard M2N-MX SE PLUS
Hello all,
I bought a new computer yesterday. As I do not know much about computer, so this is my father who has climbed the tower (not a computer professional but not a habit). All connections seem to be good but this is my problem:
- Not start with 2 strips of memory (2 x 1 GB KVR667D2N5)
- Normal start with one or the other strip in place in slot A1 or B1
If you have an answer to my problem, or comments, suggestions, I'm all ears! Thank you in advance. Sorry, I forgot to specify the reference of my motherboard, it is the M2N-MX SE PLUS.
Re: Problem with motherboard M2N-MX SE PLUS
I strangely had the same problem, also this weekend, with the same mobo and the same memory (Kingston 1G PC 5300). Having searched in vain, I returned it (where I bought my components). Arriving on site, I learned that this motherboard Asus suffers compatibility problems with almost all brands of RAM: As soon as we got a second, black screen. I then asked to replace my 2 sticks by one of 2GB (too bad for the dual channel, given the use that I do ...) and the issue has arisen again to the astonishment of technician. Finally, he proposed to change the motherboard, or take the only compatible RAM (test results) namely Transcend's 1GB PC 4200 (less efficient).

To solve this problem, just follow these 3 steps:
- Remove the battery from the bios
- Move the jumper to reset bios for 10 seconds, then return to site
- Replace the battery
And it works
