Access denied to network drive between two Vista systems
I recently setup two desktops at my home, one with Vista 64bit and other is Vista 32 bit. Both are connected with the same network and also drives are networked. But due to some reason, none of these systems are able to access the network Drive though they can see each other on the network. Every time trying to access, it says “Access Denied.’ As far as I know all settings are correct but not getting the cause of this problem. Does anyone here have any suggestion on this? Help appreciated.
Re: Access denied to network drive between two Vista systems
If they are able to see but not access, I suspect your systems might be having some third party firewall which is blocking the access. You will need to disable them as well as enter File and Printer sharing in the built-in firewall’s exception list.
Re: Access denied to network drive between two Vista systems
Thank you very much an di appreciate your help. I only have AVG antivirus on both of these Vista computers, there is o third party firewall installed. Also, as you suggested I put file/printer sharing in exception list of windows firewall but still getting "Access Denied" error on both computers. Any other help please?

Here is the complete step by step guide of doing successful file sharing on windows Vista: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../bb727037.aspx. You need to check your settings and see if they are proper.
