Disable Router DMZ?
I wanted to install Office 2007 on my laptop which is connected to internet via a router. When I started downloading I received a message saying me to disable my router's DMZ as it can corrupt files. I don’t remember the message exactly but it was very much similar to this. At the same time, I’m using Excel 2003 on my desktop pc. It is also not able to download few important add-ins. Is it because DMZ is inferring with these products?
Has anyone help came through this situation or is it just me?

Re: Disable Router DMZ?
I have never seen this never heard about the same. I mean, how can DMZ interfere with Excel. What comes to my mind is, DMZ is a firewall configuration of your router. Hence you should try going through help manuals of your router and check about the same.

Re: Disable Router DMZ?
If you cant find the manual to you router you can bypass it. if you have a modem unplug the cat5 cable from it and plug it in to you network card on you PC. you may need to refresh modem and or network ip may need to be reset. if you don't know how to do the refresh on modem or if you don't know how to reset ip you may need look it up online first. its real easy. i hope this works out for you.
