Personally, myself will prefer on a Radeon 4850.
You have no other requirements .... there is indeed much has happened since the X1600.
Should it be used for games?
Is it for HTPC use? and it must therefore be Low Profile?

I suspect that you think PCI Express ...?! because otherwise it looks bleak.
Ebay currently provides only 3 variants of HD3450 looking at the "low profile + HDMI" ... 240-300.
But I have since read that there are HD4xxx short of Low Profile; but they are so obviously not come here yet. For HTPC use, I would probably wait for these ... there has been little since HD3450.
