Want a firewall

I am having problem with my D-Link DIR-655 ADSL2+ Router. Every now and then I have to reboot it. I have a very simple machine with P4, 1GB RAM and 80GB hard disk. I am looking for some better firewall software to protect my computer from all the virus activities that can affect my computer while surfing the internet. Can you suggest me a good and safer firewall?

You can search on internet for that. I am sure you will find a lot. Some of them are Comodo, AVG, SmoothWall, ZoneAlarm and many more.

Use a Linux based Firewall. It is far more better and safer than any other OS based firewall.
