24 " monitor with HD 4870 graphics card
For Christmas, I think I would change my monitor from 22-inch to a 24-inch because I play a lot of game (cod 4, Crysis, BioShock, Far Cry 2, DMC 4 and I want to have a bigger screen for a better display quality.
I have a hd 4870, so I wanted to know if the resolution with a 24 "(1920x1200) will be good for my games?
I count on your answers and your advice
That is my config:
Asus P5Q Pro
Core 2 Quad Q6600 o/c 2.7ghz
4 gb ram G skill Extreme PC 6400
Saphire hd4870 o/c limit of the catalyst control center
2 DD (Barracuda 320 and WD 500 GB)
OCZ StealthXStream - 600W
Antec Nine Hundred
Thank you all.
Re: 24 " monitor with HD 4870 graphics card
For a monitor from 22" to 24 ", the FPS will drop because the screen resolution is more important, but given the perf of the HD4870, I think that you do not have to worry.
Re: 24 " monitor with HD 4870 graphics card
thank you for your response
but the fact that the resolution is greater, it suffers less antialiasing or what?
Re: 24 " monitor with HD 4870 graphics card
To reason mathematically, in theory:
1640 * 920 = 1'764'000 pixels on the screen
1920 * 1200 = 2'304'000 pixels on the screen
Using a small calculation of the con (a product crosses it seems to me), we can say that your screen will be ~ 25% larger (the number of points), and it will logically fall your performance by 25%. In short, in my opinion, in 4870 and 24 "is a rather viable.
