HP USB Floppy Drive Key

HP has released its USB Floppy Drive Key that offers a 2-in-1 USB media solution that boasts the ability to read the USB flash drive as a standard storage device or a floppy device.

The HP USB Floppy Drive Key provides the functionality of two USB devices in one compact package. The device functions as both a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed flash storage device and a USB floppy. The key is offered in both 1GB and 256MB storage capacities. Lightweight and compact, the USB Floppy Drive Key is ideal for users who need both a portable mass storage device provided by a standard USB Drive Key and a USB floppy drive.

Fully plug-and-play and hot-swap compatible, the operating system will immediately detect both the mass storage device and the floppy device and assign drive letters to both. The USB Floppy Drive does not require any drivers and plugs directly into the USB 1.1 or USB 2.0 ports found on virtually all systems. Kiss goodbye to dedicated USB floppy disk drives since floppies are all but extinct for many years already. You can pick up the 256MB and 1GB models for $49 and $79, respectively. Wonder what happened to the 512MB model? Strange to see HP leave that out.
