A quick search shows that there is no Vista driver for your scanner Medion. Have you tried to download the XP driver - it SHOULD work in Vista.
I've tried XP drivers but does not work. When I go in and manually looking after the driver and select the folder where the driver is, shows vista just a window which says that it has encountered a problem and you can then just close the message window.
It is indignant about Vista - there are many drivers that are not compatible with Vista - or rather - hardware manufacturers have not made drivers that works for Vista. And it comes your Medion Scanner.
If I were you I would dispose of me with the scanner, and go after a Canon or Epson or Agfa - they cost a few hundred dollars more, but you're also sure to get some quality, and with Vista drivers.
