RE: critical path problems
You can try to look for tasks with date that constraints such as "Start No earlier than" or so. You can see Critical Path best when all the tasks are "As Soon As Possible". I think that you keyed a date and that might cause problems. The start/finish dates should be calculated by the software and not the keyboard. We usually got a final milestone and put a Deadline date on that task making sure we will get a critical path.
RE: critical path problems
So I ensure that all tasks were "As Soon As Possible". I then also established a milestone named "Substantial Completion" and I created a deadline date for the milestone but still I am not able to get the critical path to show up. I will check if I didnt key in a date that might be a finish date, and may be causing the problem.
Re: critical path problems
To meet a specific finish date, it's important to keep an eye on the critical path. To verify that adjustments you make to the project plan don't adversely affect the critical path, you can review the critical path and critical tasks in several ways. If you want to show the critical path in the context of all tasks, then follow the below steps:
- On the View menu, click More Views.
- Click Detail Gantt, and then click Apply.
