Automatic update service unable to connect

I am running windows Server 2003 with Service pack 2 and is set to Automatic update. But every time it tries to do it automatic, it ends up with an error. This is what I get in the system event log:

Description:
Unable to Connect: Windows is unable to connect to the automatic updates service and therefore cannot download and install updates according to the set schedule. Windows will continue to try to establish a connection.

I don’t know what is wrong. If I try doing it manually, there is no problem connecting to update site using Internet Explorer but I want to do it automatically. Any help please?

To get the exact cause of the problem, you must check the WindowsUpdate.log file. Just see what is reported in the most recent entries at the bottom of log. You can get this file at %windir%. If you need more help accessing Windowsupdate.log file, just check this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/902093
