Slowdown in games!
some time ago I acquired a new PC, but I have a problem with this one:
When I'm playing games with my pc (COD 4, GRID: Race Drive, the first UT) my pc lag. I do not understand too much or just the problem! I try to format my pc several times unsuccessfully always :crybaby: ! And recently I tried to lower the sound quality in games, and it works! (I have played in LOW QUALITY for sound and I admit it is not very nice ..!). I want to know where this problem could come if it is necessary to change sound card or other?
Here is my config:
- Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000 +
- Video card: GeForce 8600GT 512MB (PNY)
- Memory: Kingston 2gb
- Motherboard: MSI K9N Neo-F V3
- Hard Disk: 500GB 7200 rpm (Samsung)
- Power: 480W

Hi,
It is quite surprising that after your configuration it lags .
The problem is there too as you play offline?
What is your sound card?

I play that solo (offline) not on the Internet. My sound card is a RealTek (integrated with my motherboard).
Here I just installed the game Gears of War, I must also drop the audio quality for not much slowdown (GOW is a game or it requires a very large configuration). Perhaps i put a sound card to solve the problem?
Thank you for your answers.

What is the make and model of your motherboard?

Motherboard: MSI K9N Neo-F V3

It is a low enough motherboard range, it therefore not surprised that the sound card 'on-board' not follow. If you have a sound card pci-express lying, testing plug your pc see if it works with the highest settings.
It could also bring in audio drivers, testing upgrade.
