Dell - flashing amber light before post

I have got a Dell precision 690 workstation that is having problems with the amber light flashing continuously with a diagnostic error code 1 and 3 before booting it up. This workstation just wont boot at all and will always give the flashing amber light when it is turned on. I have read few articles on this problem and it suggests that it is a power failure problem. So, is there anyone who has fixed this issue or should i just return it back to dell and ask for a replacement? Any help will be appreciated.

Yes, you should call up Dell tech support and tell them about this problem? I think that it should be a power supply issue. And since dell pc use their proprietary power connector, so only they will be able to fix this problem. One of my friend used to have similar problems with the flashing yellow power light on their dell dimensions. But after when they replaced the power supply, the problem got fixed for them. So, you can also try to replace the power supply and see if that works for you.
