Windows can't open Add Printer (0x000000c1)
I have Vista Home Premium running on my laptop. I have an HP C5280 All-in-One printer on a desktop Vista machine. When I go through the control panel to printers and select "add printer", I get this error message:
Windows can't open Add Printer. Operation could not be completed (error 0x000000c1)
What is going on? Thanks!
Re: Windows can't open Add Printer (0x000000c1)
You have a bad driver in there somewhere:

Re: Windows can't open Add Printer (0x000000c1)
Hi akr, just wondering did you goto start-control panel-classic
view-printers then right click anywhere on a blank area and select-run as
administrator- then add printer?

Re: Windows can't open Add Printer (0x000000c1)
tcpmonui.dll is a Microsoft system file for the Standard TCP/IP port monitor
If your home machine is 64bit and you installed some vendor 32bit software,
it's possible they replaced the file without verifying the OS architecture.

Re: Windows can't open Add Printer (0x000000c1)
Maybe you could try and do a system restore to a date earlier then when the
32 bit software was installed.

Re: Windows can't open Add Printer (0x000000c1)
Did you install the original software and drivers that came with your
printer.
