Question with AGP 8x

I have a motherboard that 'supports a video card agp 4x

what will happen if you placed a video card 8x

for all the help they give to me before hand I thank you

Hi, with respect to your question, the only thing that will happen, if you load the AGP 8x card in your motherboard that supports 4x, 'because that is not exit video that means that you will not see your image on screen, but runs as if not connected the cable vga.

I want to buy an AGP 8X card for around Rs.5k. I don't want to upgrade the whole system as I'm short of dough. Plz suggest.
What do you say about nVidia GeForce 7800GS AGP and the ATI HD3850 AGP?

I was stuck in this situation recently and it sucks but you gotta get with the format PCI Express 2.0
