Remote Desktop Users group not visible
Hi, We are running two servers with Windows 2003 SP2. Both are patched with most recent updates. I don’t know what is wrong, I newly setup remote desktop user group is not visible on the server. What I did was I clicked on Remote > Enabled Remote Desktop > Add user > Add Groups > selected Domain > entered Remote Desktop Users. I think the steps are correct, right?
Then why the group is not visible in the domain / AD? Any idea?
Re: Remote Desktop Users group not visible
First of all let me correct if I’m wrong. Are you trying to provide access via RDP to one of your server? If yes, then on that particular server you will need to use Remote Desktop User Group in the SAM instead of that Domain Level Group.
Re: Remote Desktop Users group not visible
In case you are not able to find any remote Desktop users or in case you have deleted it by mistakenly then you can simply another group to Terminal services and provide the required permission to users.
In order to do the same on windows 2003, you will need to go to Adminitrative tools> Terminal Services configuration. Here right click on RDP 5.2 > go to Properties > click permissions tab > add Group and assign permission.
Hope it helps.
Re: Remote Desktop Users group not visible
Remote desktop is a local group so if you chose domain you won't find it, select the local machine.
