Overclock 8800Ultra
Hi to everyone,
come I wrote in another topic (which was not devoted to it initially), I tried to overclock my ASUS 8800Ultra with riva tuner and this is not great.
I have fan of origin:
- It is managed by fan profiles:
if Temp <= 75 ° => 60%
if 76 ° C <Temp <85 ° C => 80%
if Temp> 86 ° C => 100%
This works very well.
My problem is that my gpu seems limited rise in frequency since even a 648MHz (shaders and a 1620MHz memory to 1134MHz), the PC crashes on COD4 after 30mns (pc fixed, reboot wild with the switch required).
COD4 is applying the more burdensome for my GPU on my PC: It is with this game that I wanted to validate my OC:
1600x1200, 4x AA, ... the GPU heats!
Is it the fan of origin which limit myself to this point?
Indeed, I do not see what could be another explanation.

the temperature goes down, but for the ultra OC better, it will be harder (it is already operating at frequencies far higher stock for a G80).
. I would therefore say yes to lower the temperature for the clocker => watercooling. : P
ps = or take a 280 GTX

thank you.
The gtx 280 I think ...
