MTNL MMS settings for Nokia

NOKIA 3250, 5500, 6680, 6681, E61, E70, N70, N71, N72, N73, N80, N90, N91, N93

1. Open Menu - Tools - Settings - Connection - Access points.
2. Press Options and then select New access point  Use default settings.
3. Fill your parameters as shown below

Connection name: MTNL GPRS

Data bearer: GPRS
Access point name: For Postpaid enter gprsmtnlmum
For Prepaid Enter gprsppsmum


User name: mtnl
Prompt. Password: No
Password: Mtnl123
Authentication: Normal
Homepage: http://172.16.39.140/mms/


4. Press Options and then open Advanced settings.
5. Fill your parameters as shown below:

Network type: IPv4
Phone IP address: Automatic
Name servers: Automatic
Proxy serv.address:172.16.39.10
Proxy port number: 9401

6. Return to Menu and then open Messaging.
7. Press Options and then select Settings  Multimedia message.
8. Fill your parameters as shown below:


Access point in use: MTNL_MMS
Reception. in home net : Automatic.
Receive report: No

9. To create MMS message return to Messaging and open New message. - Multimedia message.

How much MTNL will charge for sending MMS ?

MTNL charge Rs. 2 per MMS In Postpaid and Prepaid.

Configuring the Message setting

From the main menu, go to Messages and select Settings > Multimedia message > Network settings
Select a new user define field and enter accordingly:
• Rename – MTNL GPRS
• Homepage – http://172.16.39.140/mms/
• Bearer – GPRS
• GPRS settings:
-IP address – 172.16.39.10
-APN – For Prepaid Enter gprsppsmum
For Postpaid (Billing) enter gprsmtnlmum
– User ID – mtnl
– Password – mtnl123
• Connection type – Permanent
