Is it due to virus my computer running slow?

Hi,
I have scanned my computer 3 times but there is no virus detected I use AVG antivirus. My PC is running really slow. What can i do now? I am not finding any reason why my computer is running so slow? I have windows XP pro.

OK let me tell you some basics windows uninstallers do not uninstall software completely from the registry. It is possible that these traces may interfere with performance or have other negative impacts. Using a registry cleaner is a way to get rid of these bits. AVG 8.0 definitely sucks big time.

The security forums are full of posts saying it's crap.

I dumped what was left of my AVG licence and bought ESET NOD32.

You can search which process full use you cpu, and end the process.
1. right click on the TaskBar.
2. click the Task Manager.
3. click the processes tab.
4. double click the CPU.
5. find if the "System Idle Process" is max.
6. if not right click and click end process.
