NetWare has disabled the Welcome Screen and Fast User Switching
I have a Windows XP Media Center system at my office. Today morning I deleted some user accounts those were not used since long time. But since then I’m getting an error saying:
“Client Services for NetWare has disabled the Welcome Screen and Fast User Switching. To restore these features you must uninstall Client Services for NetWare.”
I tried searching web and found a great guide with instructions for uninstalling CSNW. I followed the same but when I reached General Tab I found an option to remove “Client for Microsoft Networks". There is NO option named "Client Services for Netware". This is where I got stuck. Here I want to know whether Client for Microsoft Networks and Client Services for NetWare are same?
Re: NetWare has disabled the Welcome Screen and Fast User Switching
Nope they are not same and you must not uninstall that. What you need to do is just open Registry Editor by typing “regedit” in RUN and navigate to the following location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Here make sure that setting is set to msgina.dll. Reply back again.
Re: Thanks Jason...NetWare has disabled the Welcome Screen
Appreciate your help Patter-Son. Yes that registry is set to msgina.dll. Now what?
Also can you please tell me why don’t I have Client Services for Netware (CSNW) under the Gernal tab instead of Client for Microsoft Networks.
Thanks again.
