Sushil Kumar won the bronze medal after beating Kazakhstan's wrestler in a play-off in the men's 66 kg freestyle wrestling through repechage round at the Beijing Olympics.
Earlier, India's ace freestyle grappler Sushil Kumar lost ion the first round to Ukraine’s Andriy Stadnik in the men's 66 kg freestyle event.
Stadnik started of well as he earned the first point while Sushil levelled it soon but the tough Ukrainian took the lead again as he led the first round 2-1.
Stadnik strengthened his lead by scoring quick six points in the second round while Sushil didn't even score a lone point against his mighty Ukrainian opponent.
Eventually Sushil made it to the Olympics after making it to the quarter-finals of the World wrestling championship, where he lost to Stadnik from a convincing margin of 4-15.

Indian grappler Sushil Kumar won the 1st repachage round against American Doug Schwab and pinned down Belarussian Albert Batyrov in the second.The glorious moment came after Sushil outclassed Kazakh grappler Leonid Spiridonov of Kazakastan 2-1, 0-1, 1-0 to win an Olympic Bronze medal.
Sushil won two repechage rounds after he had lost his first grapple in the morning to a far superior Ukrainian Andriy Stadnik 3-8.
What makes the achievement even more significant is that Sushil fought and won all three of his bouts in less than one hour.
After the energy sapping hour, Sushil has time to reflect on his achievement.
"I will conitnue to win medals for India. All the fights were tiring and nerve wrecking," said Sushil.
