Win XP - Gateway FPD2485W vs. DELL Optiplex GX270 no max resolution

I got some issues trying to get Windows XP SP3 on a Dell machine that has a dell provided silicon image 8x AGP card to put out the max screen resolution to a 24" Gateway FPD2485W. The OS is able to pick it as plug and play monitor, but with a dvi-d cabl the max selectable resolution is 1600 x 1200, that displays in a distroted horizontally manner and with a Vga cable the max working selectable resolution is 1680x1050. So can anyone tell me how to get further than this? Thanks

Did you go to the manufacturers website to download he graphics driver, just follow this link - http://www.siliconimage.com/support/.

Also, there is a specific software from Gateway for the monitor that you have, download it from here - http://support.gateway.com/s/MONITOR...indowsXP.shtml
