As mentioned in my title windows media player 11 wont play .AVI files. I do get the audio output but i don't get any video. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but i don't see any improvement. Is there any other solution that i can try out to get it working properly???
I think your windows media player 11 might be missing video codec??? I want to know which are the codecs getting used by your file?? have you checked them up??? if not, than check it out now and post back for further help. If you are not able to make out in that way than you can download and install VideoInspector . It will let you know which codec might be required for playing .AVI files in your case. Once you come to know about it you can download it form DivX Net site, best of luck.
You can try installing VideoInspector for find out the missing codec and installing the same. In case if that doesn't make any difference and you still don't get video while playing avi files than you can try out below things:
- Uninstall all thirdparty media players that you might have installed
- Uninstall all thirdparty codecs that you might have installed
- Install FFDShow Tryouts
If at all you face the same problem even after trying out the above things than you can revert back to me or further help.
