How to convert figures in words in Microsoft Excel

My system is running on windows xp and I have started using Microsoft Excel recently because of my work and i wanted to know if there is a way by which i can convert figures in words? i have gone through some tricks suggested by my friends but thats not working. Help regrading this will be highly appreciated.
