Service Exit code 0x240001

I have got some line in WSUS controlled WindowsUpdate.log file which is written here - Service ** END ** Service: Service exit [Exit code = 0x240001]--. Can anyone tell me whether this is success exit code or a failure exit code? The workstation that I have is showing "No Status" on a Windows Defender update (KB915597), like one other, even though the workstations are not having Defender installed. How can I make the workstations involved update fine? Thanks.

The issue that you are facing occurs if the following registry entries are corrupted or are not valid:

1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion \WindowsUpdate\Auto Update\SusServerVersion
2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion \WindowsUpdate\Auto Update\ConfigVer
