Sony 830A External DVD Drive Issues

I am using DVD Shrink and accidently put the movie in some different region so DVD Shrink prompted me to change the region from 1 to 2. But after doing this it gave me some error. Soon the drive locked itself and wont eject the disc even after turning it off and back on. So i thought of updating the firmware. It fixed the problem but it wont read the discs.I also tried to set its region to 1 cause it said before that the region needed to be set but still its says that either there is no disc in it which there is or that I need to be the administrator which I am. As of i think that the Dvd is completely of no use. Please suggest me any solutions that you can come up with. Thanks

Have you tried uninsatalling the drivers?

Try to revert back to the old firmware. This link http://forum.rpc1.org/portal.php you might want to check out caue they have custom firmware for many drives. I think that the regions can be changed a few times on a drive but i have never done it so cant say what to do. You might try to uninstall the drive & reinstall it if you cant revert to the previos firmware, or you can find registry hack or even try to reinstall the operating system.
