Window XP SP 3 - IE7 quick launch Toolbar deleted
Hi, I have a Dell desktop computer with pre-installed Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Internet Explorer 7 as my default web browser. I remember I used my IE Quick Launch toolbar yesterday after noon. Later I made several changes in my system including Internet Explorer. During the same I guess I by mistakenly deleted my Quick Launch toolbar as well. It was very useful for me. I tried several settings but dint able to get tit back. Even searched and went through several articles on web but nothing helped.
So finally I am here with a hope you guys will provide me some working solution to get back Quick Launch toolbar in IE7? If not, atleast let me know how I can create a new one. Thank you.

I think you can get it back easily by right-click a blank place on the taskbar, click Toolbars, then check Quick Launch.

Thanks for the help SMichael. I already tried that but it ends up saying something like Toolbar Cannot create Toolbar. Hence i came here for any alternate option.
Re: Window XP SP 3 - IE7 quick launch Toolbar deleted
Just go through the following steps to get it done:
This issue might happen if the Quick Launch folder is missing from this location:
%Appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
To resolve the issue, you need to execute the following command at the Run dialog box:
IE4UINIT.EXE
The above command creates the Quick Launch folder automatically. If the issue still persists, re-register the following two files (Simply execute the commands one after the other at run dialog box):
REGSVR32 /i SHELL32.DLL
REGSVR32 /i BROWSEUI.DLL
Restart Windows and enable the Quick Launch Toolbar. Alternatively, you can edit the following registry key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{D82BE2B0-5764-11D0-A96E-00C04FD705A2}
- Create a new String value
- Value data = "IShellFolderBand"
- In the same key, click + sign and "InProcServer32"
- Create a new Expandable string value. (Right-click on the registry windows, choose New to get the option)
- Value data = "%SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dll"
- Create a String value:
- Name - "ThreadingModel"
- Value - "Apartment"
