Install Program Does Not Recognize i386 Folder
I had a hard drive that died in an old pc. I bought another hard drive that was in this computer and made it the master, and reinstalled Windows on this drive. At the time of installation process, a window comes up entitled "Files Needed". The message in this Window is "Some files on Windows XP Service Pack 1 CD are needed. Insert Windows XP Service Pack 1 CD into the drive selected below, then click OK." In the window below, the drive is listed as D:\i386, which is the drive I have the Windows XP CD in at the moment but when I click ok then nothing happens? I checked the CD and there is a i386 folder present on the CD. I even tried to copy the file to another location, but the installation program still cant access it? Does anyone know how to get installation program to access D:\i386 so that I can get the proper reinstall? Thanks.

Did you try to make a slipstreamed CD with either Service Pack 1, Service Pack 2 or Service Pack 3? You can follow the below links for doing this:
