Windows Movie Maker won't play on my tv DVD
I am using Windows XP Pro with Movie Maker version 2.1. Apart from this I have a Samsung TV with a older version of DVD player. Now there are several movies which I created on Windows Movie Maker and they all run fine on the computer in Windows Movie Player 10. But when I burn the same movie on CD and put it in DVD player, it wont play at all.
Is there any compatibility or file format problem? Can anyone please provide me some details about the same? Many Thanks.
Re: Windows Movie Maker won't play on my tv DVD
Instead of burning the movie on a CD why dont you simply burn it on DVD to play it in DVD player? I mean DVD players read better with DVDs. In order to play a CD in a free standing DVD player you must have software that will create a VCD (Video CD). And for doing the same you will need to get softwares like Nero, Roxio, Ulead, WinDVD, etc...
By the way can you tell me what is the file format you using to save the movie? Is it .wmv or .avi format?

Re: Windows Movie Maker won't play on my tv DVD
First let me know which operating system you are running on. I have gone through the same problem in Windows Vista where i was unable to play the DVD in my system. I have gone through some of the article regarding same on the Microsoft that this is the issue related to the Windows Vista latest update. I have downloaded the latest update from the Microsoft and then the issue got resolve with the same. So if you can then go through the same and see whether this is working for you.

It will be really great if you can simply have the updates for Windows XP as well. I am of the opinion that there are some of the updates that are necessary for making the things to happen. You can go and find the updates in your case. Also I would like you to see for some other CD or DVD burner for writing on the CD. Nero is really heavy and it will be better if you can use Ashampoo Burning Studio or something from Cyberlink. See if that can help you.
