After Windows Update I Have No Sound

I have purchased a Toshiba Satellite laptop which is running on Windows Vista. And just 2 days before windows installed an update and after that I dont have sound anymore on this laptop. I was able to get the sound back again by going into sound options and disabling the Conexant HD and enabling the original settings but again this morning, I lost the sound again with that original option. I only get the Conexant HD option for the speakers and SPDIF Interface. When I plug in the headphones then nothing happens as well. I cannot figure out what am i suppose to do to fix this problem, can anyone help?

Have you tried using the System Restore function to a previous state when everything was working fine? If this works, then you can try to prevent Windows to automatically install the updated drivers for the audio as well by running the Windows Update manually. To do this, click on start and then type Windows Update in the search box and press enter. You will come accross a page where you will get different options to set the Windows Update download manually or automatically or some other. Simply choose the manual options to update windows and you are good to go on.
