I need some help to upgrade AVG. I am using AVG 7.5 in my system and wants to upgrade that to AVG 8.0. I had downloaded the new edition and when I run the setup I am getting a error 0x80070005. It is related to some problem in Windows registry. There is a key that is missing and causing the problem. I need some help to deal with the issue. How to upgrade to 8.0 properly. Thanks.
Yes it is recommended that you must get rid of older version first. The issue lies with compatibility settings among the new and old version and this type of errors are common. Just unintsall the old one and install new one. That's all. The antivirus will not give you error on the startup. This is the best way to fix the issue.
This a common installer failure error which also appear in some different application also. First you need admin rights to install any new software. Ensure that you are running the setup with full privileges. It is best that you install it by removing the old one completely. I a also sure that you will not get any error related to that.
