Hi,
I newly bought motorola MPX200 windows smartphone.

Anyidea about this?
Thanks
first consult ur manual if the phone supports OTA(Over The Air) settings.
Then send a SMS to 12323 with "GPRS" (W/O quotes) as the message.(I dunno if the message is different for motorolas, see the hutch site for details). They'll send u the settings, store them and sometimes ull have to wait for 2-3hrs to get activated.
I belongs airtel network, Tamilnadu and motorola doesnot support OTA settings...
The custmer care in Airtel doesnot helps me....
After spending lot of money in this phone 600 rs for GPRS monthly, iam unable to use..
do u use GPRS to access net through the phone i.e. use phone as a GSM modem or u only browse from the phone?
If its the later i advice u to change to Hutch as its only Rs.100/Month and i used it for 4months after which the phone's keypad died upon me.
Anyway ill still try to figure out a solution.
Try to do one thing.
Here r the settings i used enter theese in ur phone(There will be a menu in which u can set theese settings such as gateway ip,homepage etc.)

Hi kumar,
Thanks for ur information, anyway in my city there is no HUTCH service..
Also the settings from the hutch site does not helps me...
The later two sites i already googlied..
you can browse only wap sites using basic gprs service
Which APN name u've given..
APN name is
Access point: airtelgprs.com
Congrats..u r lucky to get GPRS @ 150/month..Me for its 600/month..
lam on with my mobile, i will tell this today night...
U can post ur setting here, i will try to findout solution..
first of all, u have to see that weather ur phone supports a modem feature.... now if it supports, then u need a data cable, ir/bluetooth(if ur phone supports that) now u have to connect the phone to ur pc, through any of the above 3 methods. now, u will have to refer to the manual of ur phone for further instructins, as every pone has its own method of doing this... also, ask ur operator weather u require any special settings for this (This is required in HUTCH, dont know about airtel ;)) and then, ur ready to for internet ;)
Hi to all,
Thanks for your help in this ...
Anyway now i can browse in pc using MPX 200...
But speed is very slow.. For monthly 600rs i think its enough with unlimited usage.. iam posting this message using this net connection only..
Thanks to all..
Note: if anybody wants settings and how to use modem functions? now i can help them..

Currently My Phone is having small problam, given to service centre> So iam unable to tell complete settings.
In next Week i will get my phone after servicing then i will tell but iam using AIRTEL in Tamilnadu. Now iam using 7610.. this also having good browser..
No need to put any port address.. I any mobile just putting APN is enough i think..
Bcas.. for the Last 3 months i changed different mobiles.. In all these i just putting tha APN name..THen it will working fine.. Now iam having 7610, in this also i put the APN only..other fields just kept blank..It is working fine..
But one thing to consider here is iam Using AIRTEL in Tamilnadu. Maybe Orange having different settings..
Try different settings. Finally one silly question.. Did u activated for GPRS settings, please confirm with your operator, becas sometimes they forget to activate.. Becas i faced similar problam ...
Try to put Proxy adress:port
ie 10.10.1.100:9401 or 10.10.1.100:9201
and Access Point as 'portalnmms' without quote

Hi,
I am using Hutch Basic gprs service that means only wap access. I tried all the setting posted in this post and at the end I was able to connect to the gprs.
It says Connecting..., Finding Site...and after that it gives an error "The page you are looking for cannot be found". Do you know how to solve this problem.
Previously i was using Samsung C100 and I was able to access same sites without any problem. So this seems to be a problem with my settings.
I have tried using IP address and port but with no luck.
Thanks in advance.

It is not getting connected. On my old phone Nokia 8310 GPRS is
working well. Only difference in setting is, there is no field for
Home page setting(google) in Mpx 200. I thing this is to be set in
internet explorer.
Please advise
I was facing the same problem when I bought new mpX200. I talked to Orange Network provider people, they said the MPx200 can not be used for basic GPRS browsing. For GPRS I should have other connection through which any GPRS phone can be conected to pc as a modem. Since MPx200 has got HTML browser, the phone itself can be used for Internet browsing. This connection costs around 600 Rs per month and the speed is not that impressive.
Have u subscribed for advanced GPRS @600per month. lf so what problam u facing? tell me the exact error u getting? pl do not put any ip address...Quote:

But as per my knowledge if GPRS works on Nokia 8310, it should
work on Mpx 200. Is there Advance GPRS & Normal GPRS services
are available from Airtel ?. I have also tried same srevice on Sony Ericsson
P800 model. It works well on P800 phone. I will try setting as per your instruction.

Yes, Advance GPRS means, u can use your mobile as modem in your pc and browse all other normal sites..Even in your MPX 200 also u can browse all normal sites(Except frames based sites)Quote:

I already told in my earlier posts, as far as airtel gprs settings, just putting the APN is enough ie Access Point Name = airtelgprs.com
this thing is enough, all other settings are automaticaly taken from APN..Since i've done this only in all my mobile phones( MPX 200, 7610, P800, T230..) and i had a successful browsing..
Airtel Mobile Office alone is working well.Quote:

Please explain.
I would like to add Airtel Live & Masala to my phone.
No need to put Masala settings seperately for that..Just put the site name in IEQuote:

(sorry got lil carried away here hehe but i really mean it)
Hi BlitzKrieg,
Iam sorry to say, that if u getting the error..Unable to connect to network..means Your service provider doesnot activated GPRS on your account..
According to thier website(bpl) the APN was bplgprs.com
Also for GPRS they charging 750/month..But u tolded 100/month..From this only they doesnot activated GPRS..May be Rs.100 is for MMS..Also the APN u given was surely for MMS...
These all details are collected from thier website..
So u please check once again with ur operator about the GPRS activation..
After Activation u make the settings as
For BPL GPRS
APN : bplgprs.com
Just leave all other settings and try to connect..I
If not also put Proxy address in Proxy connection..
Proxy (name:port) : 203.196.249.170 : 9201
These are the settings...
As far airtel no need to put these proxy address..
BEST OF LUCK..
That's quite helpful, but you wouldn't believe me. I struggled for one month. I talked to orange people, I talked to motorola guys, all of them told me the same thing that the mpx200 can not access basic GPRS. I think I've got to locate someone who's using basic GPRS from orange, on mpx200.Quote:

please some one help me, i am using motorola e365 and i can't send mms. i can receive mms properly. i am using orang sim card in mumbai. the settings are correct, the helpline says that my cell is not compatible for mms.
I am using HUTCH Rs. 99 (for prepaid users )GPRS to surf the internet of my laptop. Despite HUTCH CARE persons repetedly saying the same is not meant for connecting to the internet and buy HUTCH ACCESS for using internet browsing service.. I decided to give a try. I did everything normally except specifying proxy server address and port number and some iptables rules in LINUX( optional ). I am getting a best bet speed of 7.2 kbps on my LINUX 7.2. My other friends are not getting the same speed in AIrtle on Rs. 600 GPRS.....
Cheers for HUTCH...
i have mpx200 plz help me connecting withpc....i have gprs on airtel...
plz give me settings on pc...it dials...then give 721 error...
