Computer freezes when watching videos

Something is going wrong with windows media player, whenever i play any video in it, it plays it fine for a couple of minute but than suddenly my system gets freeze and i have to force my system to shutdown. I have Windows XP (version 11) installed. My system is up to date with all recommended windows update. Is there anything i need to check out?? I don't think i am missing out anything but still let me know if you all doubt anything.

I guess you have turned on video hardware acceleration. In that case try turning it off and see if windows media player plays videos fine without freezing up the whole system after that, best of luck.
