Will not boot up in safe mode???

I am having a desktop at home which was running with Windows XP. Recently the hard drive of this system got crashed. Fortunately I have a backup of my entire windows on another hard drive. Earlier I use to simply restore my backup using Restore Disk and it use to work fine. Now as windows itself has Backup and Restore option, I tried restoring this time using this option but it gives me an error message saying “no files are found”.

Also when I click the properties of .bkf file there is no Security Tab which use to be there. Apart from this, this system is not booting in Safe Mode anymore. What can I do now? Please help.

As you said your backup files use to work fine when you restore them using the Restore CD, this time also you should try out the same. If windows built-in restore option is giving you so many problems, first restore windows in your old method, once done, create a new backup file and see if there is any Security Tab.
