I am using SBS 2003 for many years. I even do not remember when I had configured it long before. I do not remember any settings. Now I am here trying to configure Outlook 2003. I am doing the same on Windows XP with all Windows Updates required. But somehow the connection with RPC over HTTP is not at all working. There are around 20 different machines in the same network but somehow the problem still lies with the RPC. I had tried to configure email connection wizard but that is also not working. So can anyone help me here to deal with the problem.

It is due to firewall. The port that the RPC service is trying to use is close and due to which you are getting the connectivity failure error. Or else the firewall is turned on. You will need to do two things here. First check by turning off the firewall. Second thing just add the RPC port under firewall exclusion list. Turning Off the firewall can generate more security risk. So you can verify a set of ports and then check back how it works.
