Uninstall Language Packs in Windows Vista ULtimate (x86)
I am usinf the English version of Windows Vista Ultimate and some months ago
I have downloaded and installed the Greek and portoguese language packs. I
have never used them so I decided to uninstall them in order to install Vista
SP1.
Unfortunatelly although the uninstallation process starts it never completes.
I have also tried the hotfix mentioned in another post with no success.
Any suggestions?

go back in time via System Recovery. If that isn't possible format and
reinstall the vista OS.

see at the bottom -
How to remove a language pack
1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. In Control Panel, click Clock, Language, and Region, click Regional and Language
Options, and then click Change display language.
3. On the Keyboard and Languages tab, click Install/uninstall languages under
Display language. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation,
type the password, or click Continue.
4. In Choose to install or remove languages, click Remove languages.
5. Under Select the languages that you want to remove, select the language that you
want to remove, and then click Next.
6. Click the language that you want to remove, and then click Remove.

If you are still having trouble removing the language packs, try
disabling UAC, disable system restore, stop the windows update service,
delete the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder, reboot, and then do
this:

Then run lpksetup and remove each language pack one at a time. It
worked for me!
