Upgrade to Vista Business from Vista Home Basic
I bought a Toshiba laptop about a month ago which came pre-installed with Vista Home Basic. I don’t have any problem with its performance or anything but due to some reason I need to upgrade now to Vista Business Edition. As I haven’t done it before, I don’t want to mess up anything and hence need some suggestion from you all.
First of all I would like to know whether business edition is capable of finding its drivers on its own or do I need to download and install its drivers manually? Also is there any special process to upgrade from Home Basic to Business? Please provide some suggestions. Thank you in advance.
RE: Upgrade to Vista Business from Vista Home Basic
First of all, as per system requirements, you must have atleast 1Gig of RAM and 128MBs of Graphics to run Vista Business Edition. Apart from this, unfortunately Vista Home and Home Premium editions are not upgradable to Vista Business edition. So the only way is to wipe out C drive completely and then do a fresh install.
If you meet the requirements and want to delete Home Premium completely, you can install Business comfortably. There s no problem with the drivers. Just run the same drivers CD that you ran with home premium.

Yes, there would be no problem with the Business edition installation if you do a clean install. Apart from this, you should check out these articles for more info:
