System will not recognize Internal CD/ DVD Drives
I am running Windows XP with Amd Processor which is 4 years old. At the time of boot, auto detect will not detect the Sec Master nor the Sec Slave that are the internal CD/R and CD/DVD R/W drives. After boot, explore does not show either device and Device Manager does not show either device. I am able to open CD/R drive, insert CR, hear the spin but device will not play and the CD/DVD R/W also will not open. There is no issue with the disk drives or the operation of the computer nor working on Internet. Can anyone please help. Thanks

Are you playing with the internal cords? If its an IDE, then is the cord frayed or something? Have you disabled it via the Bios? Check the below link incase it helps:
