Lost my Speaker Icon on the Taskbar
It is Windows Vista running on HP laptop. My system was working fine from long time until yesterday. Today morning when I booted up my system I found that the speaker icon is no more in my system tray. I’ remember it was there until yesterday.
Any idea how can I fix the same ?
RE: Lost my Speaker Icon on the Taskbar
Well I don’t know what could be the reason but I know how it can be retrieved. Start by right clicking any empty area on your taskbar and select Properties. Now go to the Notification Area. Now here under System Icons you will find list of icons which you want to show and hide. There is also check box for the same. Simply check mark the box ‘Always Show’ and select every icon to be shown. You will find your speaker icon here itself.
Re: Lost my Speaker Icon on the Taskbar
Thanks for your help MikeY007. Even me facing the same problem on my Vista desktop. As per your instructions I went to notification area and I can see the following four icons, that is Sound, Power, Time and Connection. But the problem is all these options are grayed out. I cannot check or uncheck any of them.
Any other solution please ?
