Bad_pool_caller Error on Windows Vista

My system is not allowing me to install Windows Vista properly. I had did the setup a number of time but still I am getting error. The error code is Bad_Pool_Caller
*** stop:0x000000c2 (0x00000007, 0x0000113d, 0x00090210,0x89001F40). Can anyone tell me what is the error about. The setup is not interrupted but still I a not able to get this thing work. After proper installation Vista works fine for some couple of days, but again I keep on getting this error. I had wiped out my hard drive completely, and there is nothing fresh installed. I only install a antivirus after setup. Is this error related to some kind of hardware fault in the computer.

I am not sure, but I am having a double on some driver. Is there any other hardware connected to your computer. Like a printer, tv tuner card, gpu, sound card, lan card, usb hub, etc. Any hardware which needs driver to perform. Disconnect that and then try to re-install Vista. The error reflects some kind of incompatible hardware in your computer. There can be anything. Disconnect everything except the keyboard and mouse. And check if you are getting the error or not. Then try to connect all stuff one by one. I hope you will be able to find which hardware is causing this issue.

I had seen the same error on my clients computer. There was Windows XP installed in that. The motherboard was belong to some Mercury. When he upgraded to Windows Vista, he face the error. Some hardware is not compatible with Vista and it will work only in Windows XP. To fix the issue I had changed the memory. And the problem disappeared. But we had not installed Vista back on that. It is still working well on Windows XP. In my system due to virus I wsa planing to restore Windows. I am getting a black screen saying that some file is missing or corrupted. I had installed vista but on boot the same error appeared. I removed my RAM wipe it with a ink rubber and fixed it back. The setup startup. It looks the ram will not last long much.

I am trying to find a bit information about this error. Because my system is facing the same. The bluescreen started appearing first when I was working on Adobe Photoshop. I do not know what happen but suddenly Windows crashed giving the error. The message on screen was that Windows has faced any issue and will be turned off. I had tried to read about this error on various websites. I had got some troubleshooting tips that I had did one by one. At first after a fresh installation I had installed and updated my system. Second I had installed only needed software. Like Microsoft Office and chat messenger. There are no other programs installed. Third I had run a update for Nvidia card in my system. After that again I got the same bluescreen error. Later on I installed a older driver but it worked. To ensure that the RAM was fine, I had run a tool to scan memory errors. But after scan the tool showed that the ram is well. To ensure the fitting I removed the ram, cleaned it and then fixed it well. Checked all the power cables and fitted everything well. I also disabled some startup apps from Msconfig. So at this point I am on the safer side. Till yet the system looks to be working well. I am going to mention a number of references site I had seen below. The same will help you to deal with errors in many way. The resources are quiet helpful, but there are less chances of having heavy fixes. The things that irritates more is when you try to reboot your system with Vista disc and you are getting the same error on that mode. You cannot do anything there. Those who are facing the error because of software can simply remove that and install it back again. Like the one who mentioned about Adobe Photoshop. I had seen people using pirated software which are activated by keygens. They are the common cause of blue screen. It affects your system stability to great extent. And on such software you cannot expect to receive updates. What I try to do on such errors is referring to many articles on web. So that I can avoid continuous installation. The error is related to an incorrect or interrupted memory operation. It can be due to hardware as well as it can be due to some buggy software in your system. Most commonly drivers are the common cause that affect the system performance. One thing you must ensure that if you are installing any hardware or software you must check the system compatibility. Vista is a really buggy operating system and this type of things are quiet common with this OS. Let the mouse and keyboard connected only. I had seen many people try to install Vista if the system is connected on lan. You must remove all those connection also. And once all drivers are up with new updates then try to connect each of them one by one. That will fix the issue.

That is a clear issue of bad driver in your computer. When you are installing Vista, there are possibility that the existing driver library has a faulty file which led the system crash. This can be fixed under Safe Mode only. Because in Safe Mode there are minimum service running which affect the performance or cause any error. Hit F8 to get in Safe Mode. If you had not installed Vista and got the error before then try to go on Safe Mode menu and click on Last Good Known Configuration. Startup Repair can do nothing here. Many associate blue screen with faulty ram. But that is not the case. Before performing a memtest remove the ram and fix it back again. I was not able to install XP in old system due to improper ram. You can look for Clean Boot. Sometime disabling page file will also does the job.

I got the same error on Windows XP. This appeared after updating Windows. I have Adobe Photoshop installed in my computer and the error appeared while editing a file. When the system crashed I restarted that. But after a few hours the same error appeared. The message was similar to Bad Pool Caller. After formatting XP completely, I forgot to turn of Automatic Updates. It download some fresh updates and started installing them. After while again the system crashed. This is the third time I am going to re-install Windows XP back again. Before doing that I removed every update one by one manually from safe mode. But that did not worked. Sometime there is a specific update which is either corrupted or not proper. That cause the failure. It is recommended that you must download updates manually and install only those which is recommended. It is not easy to find which update is causing issue. As there is no software to test that.

I am sure that RAM is behind this. It might get passed in MEMTEST but it is the only responsible thing. I had two ram installed of 1GB each. I receive this error suddenly. I did a number of things as per mentioned above in this thread. I modified the updates, removed not required hardware, removed software in safe mode, etc. But nothing worked out. Then I tested by removing one ram. It started working. My second ram was gone. Somehow there is a hardware fault in your computer. My friend has a computer in which he face blue screen quiet frequently. It was due to a faulty network chip on the motherboard. After sending that to service a number of time, we did not received any fixed for the same. Second thing if the page file is corrupted then also the error appears. We know that by default a certain amount of page file is assigned to improve system performance. You must disable that for some while and use your system.

It would help to work in better way. Random blue screen are not at all good sign in your system. I am trying to locate some option to deal with a buggy driver. Either I have to stop using that hardware or I will need to find the right update. Sometime using old drivers fix the issue. But it is a bit complicated to find the exact hardware or driver causing issue. We can check that in Device Manager. Install drivers one by one. Or you can enable or disable hardware one by one to check which is causing the issue.

I built this PC about 10 months ago, and I just started getting this error in the past 3 days. I've looked around for what it may be, but nothing is definitive and it's becoming annoying.

windows xp pro sp3
amd athlon x2 64 4200+
2 x 1Gb sticks mushkin ddr400
ati radeon x850 xt pe

If it is possible for you to analyze the error then you can find the solution for that. It is a advance way of troubleshooting but that really help to much extent. It is not easy to fix those errors just by running updates. You will need a kernel debugger for that. There is a tool called as Verifier which can do the job you want. It is capable of finding problem with associated drivers in your system. There are some references that can help you here to find a proper way of debugging files. It is complicated but only way to find the answer for your issue.

hello everyone ok i have a hudge problem i got a blue screen i hate those but my own wont go away when i booted up the laptop today its an HP it gave me this message well error code BAD_POOL_CALLER 0x000000c2 ( 0x00000043 , 0xc1b10000 , 0x00000000 , 0x00000000 ) and i didnt install anything or update anything unless they were done automatically but i cant log on in vga mode , in safe mode , safe mode with networkking or last known configuration because it'll reboot again and again and again and i dont have a windows xp cd

It turned out to be my camera drivers/ programs that came with my new digital camera I got for my 18th birthday.

I've e-mailed samsung about this, and they have yet to respond back.

I uninstalled everything that came on the CD with the camera, and I haven't blue screened in almost 3 days. So, this appears to be the problem.

So now, I get to invest in a card reader to get any of my pictures off of the camera.

I got the issue with a laptop. It is a Dell Precision. The laptop was fine and after purchase I would have used it only for a week or two. But after installing Office 2007 new problem started appearing. The day when I had installed Office I received some updates popup on my screen. I installed them. After waking my system from sleep mode, Windows crashed. A reboot has fixed the issue, but the problem does not look less serious here. I do not want this problem to repeated again and again. I checked the memory dump file created. But I cannot locate anything. Also there is no error listed in Event Viewer. I checked inside Device Manager to find if any hardware is not installed. Everything was fine there. After searching on web I am more confused here. I had contacted Dell support they said to send the error details once if the BlueScreen appeared again.

Update your laptop drivers. That might help you. Go to dell download side and get fresh updates. It will fix the errors, I think. Windows Vista is buggy and blue screen is a common error for laptops. As there are number of hardware's like a webcam which is affected by updates and cause this issues.
