All processes with blank user name in Window Task Manager
I am using a laptop Windows XP Home with SP2 since a year now. There is no problem in the performance of this system but today when I went to task manager to check my SPU usage as I was running a heavy application, I found that USER NAME column was completely blank.
If am not wrong, it contains the owner name of the processes such as my username, SYSTEM, LOCAL_NETWORK, etcc right? But today there is no owner. Is my system on risk? Any idea what went wrong and how can I fix it? Thanks in advance.
RE: All processes with blank user name in Window Task Manager
Just go through the following steps and the problem will be fixed.
- Click Start, Run and type Services.msc
- Locate Terminal Services and double-click it
- Set the Startup type to Manual, and click Apply
- Click the Start button to launch the service manually.
- Similarly, double-click Fast User Switching Compatibility service
- Set the Startup type to Manual, and click Apply
- Click the Start button to launch the service manually.
