user list not updating in global address list
I want to know when I am adding a user or removing a user from SBS 2003 then why is this not reflected in the global address list on a users pc in there Outlook? Is it that it takes some time for it to update itself? If so, then can this time be adjusted or is it automatic? I am a new to SBS 2003 and therefore dont know much about it.
Re: user list not updating in global address list
Normally, it happens automatically at night. After that Outlook updates itself to the new "offline address book," usually when the user starts Outlook in the morning. So, for instance, if you add a user now, you will not see them in the GAL until tomorrow, although you will be able to enter their address and send them mail immediately. If you want to do it, then immediately go to the Exchange System Manager and navigate to Recipients >> Offline Address Books. After that, in the right pane, right click the default address book and click Rebuild. After that go to the client PC and in outlook, click tools >> send/receive >> download address book.
