RE: Windows (Vista) Update Error : Code 52F
I fixed it. It was a 2 part process but it worked.
1. Run services.msc
2. Highlight Office Source Engine, Right click, Properties. If this program
is not started, press start tab. Change start up type to automatic. apply
actions and close.
Here is the problem I had with ose.exe- When office 2003 was originally
installed, i had a 2nd hard drive installed on my computer. I had problems
with it and had to disable it. When office 2003 was installed, the Office
Source Engin (ose.exe.) detects which hard drive is the largeset on your
system and installs from that. When I tried to manually install the updates,
it came up with a D:/ inaccessable error. I re-enabled my secondary hard
drive, rebooted, and reinstalled the updates. Hope this helps

Try a search? First find the decimal equivalent of your error code.
<cmd_output>
F:\>set /a c = 0x052f
1327
F:\>net helpmsg %c%
Logon failure: user account restriction. Possible reasons are blank passwords
not allowed, logon hour restrictions, or a policy restriction has been enforced.
</cmd_output>
<title>You receive a "Error 1327. Invalid Drive... " error message
when you install Office 2003</title>
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/873301
(Live Search for
(0x52F OR 52F OR 1327) site:support.microsoft.com
)
BTW you may find more knowledgeable assistance from a newsgroup
which specializes in the product being updated, especially if the error
occurs when you try to install the update manually. Cross-posting now.
Good luck
