Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service....
my Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service does notwork.
Recently there was a brief power failure, there was no hardware damage, so
dont think its that. I restarted, pc all seemed well. now everything works
perfectly fine as it should except at bootup i occasionaly get the error
Windows media player network sharing service has stopped working and was
closed. now, windows will notify you if a solution is available... ahahah
what a complete joke.. I went into my computer management, clicked services,
found Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service and its set to startup
(delayed) and i hit stop, hit start again..
it then proceeds to startup, and then fails and i get this message
Windows media player network sharing service has stopped working and was
closed.
when i open up wmp 11, i can play any video no worries, but when i open up
any music... it just freezes and comes up with error, wmp has stopped
working.. blah blah, no error message, just the default usual crap. Now.. i
beleive that with my xbox 360 with the media sharing enabled, i could play
music through pc onto xbox right, with the power failure, its corrupted that
service, and now i cant restart the service, or even play mp3's or any kind
of music whatsoever because of this corrupt service.
so does anyone know how to reinstall/jump start this service again believe
it is corrupt..... I cant even reinstall wmp11, vista is sure getting onto my
nerves
I have this exact same problem.
I have this exact same problem. Everstartup I get the error message. Service will not restart. Can not play any music at all using any Microsoft product. When I start any music source in any variety of ways it crashed whatever microsoft music player I try to use. Doesn't matter if the source is streaming off the internet, my media pc in the other room, on my local internal or external hard drives.
iTunes seems to work fine. Don't know why. WMP11 and Zune player do not work at all. Can't turn on preview pane in a music folder and play it there. I noticed above post was made in August. Any chance you figured out a fix by now? I hope...
