Write-Protected Flash Drive?
I have a Canon MP600 printer which I was using with my Windows XP computer since past 6 months and never had any problem. The printer also has built-in slots for reading/writing flash cards. While I was using it with XP, I was able to drag the files to my computer, effectively deleting them from the flash card. But since I upgraded the system to Windows Vista Ultimate two weeks ago, it wont allow me to do all those stuffs.
It just allows me to delete any files. Whenever I try doing so , it gives me an error message saying: “the drive is write-protected.” As far as I know the driver is not write protected, also I was using the same card on my XP without any problem. However I tried checking ownership, but that dint helped either. The only way to delete the files from this card is from Camera itself.
Can anyone please tell me how can I fix this annoying problem? Many Thanks,.
Re: Write-Protected Flash Drive?
I have been through this problem but managed to fix it myself after troubleshooting for few hours. In my case there was an option for making the drive "read/write" from Memory Card's menu. So i will suggest you to better check the "Memory Card" menu that allows you to make the drive read/write.
Hope it helps.
