Display of images in Vista as Thumbnails
I am using Vista Home Premium Edition, and I am unable to display images as
thumbnails. I saw a couple of threads that offered the following suggestions:
Run: regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\shimgvw.dll
or:
Run: REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL
My system responded that "The module "c:\Windows\system32\shimgvw.dll" was
loaded but the entry-point DllRegisterServer was not found.
I can't locate this file anywhere on my computer. I'm wondering if the
installation was corrupted and I have to start all over, or can I find this
file somewhere and add it?

Re: Display of images in Vista as Thumbnails
It appears that you have shimgvw.dll, or you would see "shimgvw.dll failed
to load" and "the specified module could not be found" when running the
command. Look again in C:\Windows\system32.
Try this. In order for the icon to show a preview, in Control Panel> Folder
Options, on the View tab under Advanced settings, "Always show icons, never
thumbnails" must be unchecked.
