Automatic Updates service hung on starting
I've had recent updates coming up repeatedly as needing to be installed on my
W2K server and finally noticed this error in the Event Viewer. The Event ID
is 7022 with the message "The Automatic Updates service hung on starting."
Two updates are showing up as successful on the Windows Update page, but
still showing up as needing to be installed if it searches for updates. Two
others repeatedly fail to install.
I'd like to get all these updates installed and do away with the constant
notification that there're patches to be applied.
RE: Automatic Updates service hung on starting
Why is there zero response to this post when 8 of 9 people have found it
helpful? Clearly there are a number of people seeking the answer to the same
or very similar problem.

RE: Automatic Updates service hung on starting
I have also been seeing 7022 Error message in the Events Viewer "The
Automatic Updates service hung on starting". It appears not to effect any
functioning of the automatic updates, but it definitely causes the computer
to be sluggish on startup. I am looking for the "fix" for this error.
