Need .avi Codec For Windows Media Player

does anyone know where to get a codec for WMP10 so that it will play .avi movies??

I just tried this and it didn't work. It also contains an annoying pop up that keeps asking/claiming you need to scan your PC. NOT.

I will keep looking for codec file that will allow me to play my videos.
